About Softlock
In games, a softlock is when you're not dead — you just can't progress. Softlock the product names that feeling in real life: buffering decisions, infinite tutorials, prestige burnout, couch co-op alone.
It's a viral web app: a short scenario quiz, sixteen memorable types, shareable result cards, a friend infection loop, and a Wordle-like Daily Softlock seeded from the UTC date so the whole planet shares one climate.
Design principles
- Roast + empathy — never cruelty aimed at protected classes.
- No signup. Results and streaks live in your browser.
- Screenshot-native cards. Mobile-first (390px).
- Deterministic “global” counters and daily seeds — no backend required.
